June 01, 2010

The best pictures of the “Southeast Europe: People and Culture” photo competition are now on display at LOCUSLUX Gallery in Brussels (Oude Graanmarkt 57 / 57 Rue du Vieux Marché aux Grains), where they will stay until 6 June 2010.

The Europe-wide photo competition, organised by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Enlargement, took place between October 2009 and January 2010. Participants were invited to share their images on culture, sports and everyday life in the contemporary Western Balkans and Turkey. Nearly 1.500 photographers from around the EU and the Candidate Countries and Potential Candidates in Southeast Europe sent in their images, raising the total number of submissions to some 3.200 photos.

Visit the exhibition and experience the beauty of the region as seen by photographers from around Europe. We hope you enjoy discovering the region!
